Acclaimed Nigerian DJ and music producer DJ Tunez has joined forces with Nigerian icon Wizkid and South African maestro DJ Maphorisa to present an exciting collaborative project titled SOUTH GIDI. This EP brilliantly fuses the vibrant Amapiano beats from South Africa with the energetic Afrobeats vibes synonymous with Nigeria.
The name SOUTH GIDI symbolizes this cultural fusion-“Gidi” is a popular moniker for Lagos, Wizkid’s hometown, while “South” highlights Maphorisa’s South African heritage. This concise three-track EP encapsulates the dynamic synergy between two of Africa’s most influential music hubs.
