Gov Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State seems to be a man of action more than words. He also loves to disappoint those who mistake his calm mien to be weakness. Last week, the speaker of the House of Assembly threw some jabs by pointing to ruination of education sector. Others began to question the type of SIM that returned to power if it was the same that left for suspension.
Now, he has bounced back with shockers.
He is set to commission 10 strategic projects that would positively impact on the citizens from the present week.
Benibo Anabraba, Secretary to the State Government, revealed on Monday, December 8, 2025, during a media briefing in Port Harcourt, that Gov Fubara was dedicated to the mandate reposed in him by Rivers people to deliver democratic dividends.
According to him, “Beginning from Wednesday, December 10 to 23 December, the projects for commissioning and flag-oft will cut across Ahoada East and West, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, kwerre, Emohua, Obio/Akpor, and Port-Harcourt City Local Government Areas of Rivers State.

”We thank the people of Rivers State for finding His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, who is humbled by the trust reposed in him, and honoured by the privilege bestowed on him to serve as the Governor of Rivers State at this time of our lives as a people, and hereby convey the Governor’s commitment to ensuring that the dividends of democracy are delivered to all citizens irrespective of location, while maintaining the peace and development of Rivers State at all times.
He reminded the people that the governor secured his mandate through an election.
”Despite the resultant effects of the interregnum in democratic governance, we have taken off in earnest, from where we stopped, particularly in the initiation, execution, and completion of projects, with special appreciation to the President of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose timely and fatherly intervention and magnanimity ensured that this administration returned to fulfill its obligation to the people of the State.”
He further assured Rivers people of their security and urged them to follow the path of peace.
The statement mentioned the projects to be commissioned. Some of the projects to be commissioned include extension of dualization of Ahoada-Omoku road, Egbeda-Omerelu link road, Ikwerre road-Igwuruta-Airport, RIVTAF Housing Estate/Anniversary Celebration, and Ihuowo-Ihuama ring road
