Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United’s young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo as they look to strengthen their squad.
The Blues have been monitoring Mainoo since he broke into Man United’s first team and are said to have made an initial move to sign him last January.

However, the England international has since fallen out of favour under new manager Ruben Amorim and is pushing for a move away from Old Trafford after a request for a loan transfer was turned down in the summer.
Mainoo is reportedly keen to secure regular first-team football to boost his chances of making England’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The midfielder is said to be seeking a fresh challenge that would accelerate his development.
According to Caught Offside, top European clubs are monitoring the situation and are interested in signing Mainoo.
The report adds that Chelsea are currently leading the race alongside Bayern Munich, although the player is prioritising a move to a club where he would be guaranteed a starting role.
