The Super Eagles midfielder, Raphael Onyedika, has shown promising signs in his recovery from the hamstring injury, having recently returned to light training sessions on the pitch, as reported by Soccernet.ng.
The injury was sustained on September 24 during a thrilling 5-5 draw between Club Brugge and Westerlo at the Jan Breydel Stadium.
This injury sidelined Onyedika from participating in Nigeria’s recent international matches during the break, as well as the last four fixtures for Club Brugge.
Thankfully, the hamstring issue did not require surgery, which has facilitated a more straightforward rehabilitation process. He is now steadily approaching full match fitness.
The 24-year-old defensive midfielder shared an Instagram post from Club Brugge’s training ground, captioned succinctly, “God timing.”

Originally, the recovery timeline was projected at 5 to 6 weeks. Having completed approximately four weeks, his gradual return to training suggests he is on track for a swift comeback.
Raphael Onyedika: A Key Figure for the Super Eagles
Onyedika is expected to be fully fit within the next one to two weeks. His comeback will not only bolster Club Brugge’s midfield depth but also offer a crucial reinforcement for the Super Eagles.
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers looming next month, his availability could be instrumental in Nigeria’s quest for qualification.
Depending on the strategic decisions of coach Eric Chelle, Onyedika may either provide a dependable backup to Wilfred Ndidi or compete for a starting berth.
Once back in action, he will be eager to sustain his impressive form and continue making significant contributions for both his club and the national team.
