Mido calls for Salah to win Ballon d’Or.
Former Egypt international Mido has voiced strong support for compatriot Mohamed Salah to be crowned the winner of the Ballon d’Or, insisting the Liverpool forward has done more than enough to deserve the award.
In a heartfelt message posted on social media, Mido hailed Salah’s impact on and off the pitch, describing him as a source of pride for Egypt and an inspiration to young players around the world.

What Mido said
“I honestly believe that Salah should be the winner by the end of the night,” Mido wrote.
He said, “He deserves to be crowned after all that he has done for the football world. He’s been a great example to all youngsters all over the world, he gave them hope, and he’s been the pride of his country, Egypt.”
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker urged voters to recognise Salah’s achievements this year, “Be fair to him just for one time and make it happen this year! Give him what he deserves, the Ballon d’Or.”
Salah’s case for the Award
Salah has been one of Liverpool’s most influential figures in recent years, consistently ranking among Europe’s top scorers and delivering in important matches for both club and country.
From January 1 to September 22, 2025, Salah scored 17 goals nd 10 assists in 28 matches.
Salah concluded the 2024/2025 season with Liverpool on a high note. In the Premier League alone, he was a key figure in the title-winning campaign, finishing the season with 29 goals and 18 assists.
Dembele and Yamal are the leading candidates for the 2025 Ballon d’Or, which will be awarded on Monday evening.
