For years, electricity consumers and distribution companies have clashed over the accuracy and fairness of billing. A major point of contention has been the limited availability of prepaid meters, which many believe could resolve these disputes.
In a recent development, Holley Metering Nigeria Limited has announced the launch of prepaid meter sales targeting customers in Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, and Cross Rivers States, offering a promising solution to this long-standing issue.
Recognized globally as a leader in the metering sector, Holley Metering Nigeria Limited operates under a license granted by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) as a Meter Asset Provider (MAP), aiming to close Nigeria’s metering deficit.

The company’s officials highlighted their specialization in high-quality smart prepaid meters and related metering technologies. They also maintain a longstanding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Plc (PHED).
Through this collaboration, Holley Metering has been actively supplying and installing various meter types within PHED’s service area, ensuring customers benefit from enhanced control over their electricity usage, elimination of estimated billing, and prevention of unjustified disconnections, among other advantages.
Pricing for these meters ranges between N129,454 and N216,206, depending on the meter’s phase, with installations completed within 10 working days following payment.
Unlike earlier prepaid meter initiatives that involved complex procedures and intermediaries, this new program welcomes direct engagement from interested individuals, who can visit Holley Metering’s headquarters in Port Harcourt to make purchases.
