Victor Osimhen: Eric Chelle gets confirmation as Galatasaray coach provides injury update on Nigerian striker

Galatasaray’s coach Eric Chelle provided a status update on Victor Osimhen’s injury.

Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk confirmed that Victor Osimhen does not have a concerning health problem after he limped off the pitch during the Champions League clash against Liverpool.

What Buruk said

Galatasaray secured a famous victory in the Champions League against Liverpool, with Osimhen scoring the winning goal from the penalty spot. However, he could not complete the game after going down, seemingly injured.

Buruk praised his team’s result during the game. He also explained that Osimhen only had a cramp and would return to training for the game against Besiktas tomorrow.

“We are delighted to see a Turkish team defeat a very important Premier League team in Europe,” he said, per Egealternatif. “We are happy to have brought joy not only to Galatasaray fans but to our entire country.

“The Champions League is a very difficult event. Every team will do everything they can to advance to the next round.

“Osimhen doesn’t have any major problems. We rested him today, and he’ll be training with us tomorrow. He played a match after a long break. He was tired and had cramps.”

Meanwhile, Eric Chelle counts on Osimhen being fit for the coming World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin Republic and has named the former Lille striker in the 23-man squad.
