Renowned singer Seyi Shay recently shared insights into her close professional and personal connection with Afrobeats icon Wizkid, shedding light on the mentorship and camaraderie that blossomed through their early musical ventures. She opened up about their dynamic partnership during an engaging conversation on The Honest Bunch Podcast.
The artist behind the hit “Irawo” recounted her multiple collaborations with Wizkid, highlighting their joint work on her track “Crazy” as well as his own songs, where she also contributed backing vocals. Their creative exchanges laid the foundation for a genuine friendship.
“I collaborated with Wizkid on ‘Crazy,’ featuring him on my song, and he also invited me onto one of his tracks. Additionally, I lent my voice as backing vocals on several of his projects. Through these experiences, we developed a true friendship,” she reminisced.
Expressing deep admiration for Wizkid’s exceptional talent, Seyi Shay remarked, “I discovered that he’s incredibly intelligent and gifted. I once watched him record while eating, which blew my mind.
