Osimhen told me to feature the legend — Odumodu reveals big impact Super Eagles star had on ‘The Machine’

Odumodublvck revealed how Osimhen impacted his new album.

Afrobeats and Hip Hop superstar Odumodublvk revealed that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen influenced his decision to include legendary Nigerian rapper Mode9 in his recent album “Industry Machine.”

The 31-year-old UNILAG alumnus released his highly anticipated “Industry Machine” album in the early hours of Monday, October 6th, and it was packed with many exciting features.

One of the most interesting guest acts on the project was Modenine, who, though a rapper like Odumodu, is from a different era. While Modo is widely regarded as the most technically skilled rapper in Nigerian music history, he has not enjoyed much mainstream success.

Osimhen plays A&R

As stated, despite his status, the Elbow Room crooner’s listenership is niche, and he has not had a mainstream appearance in a minute. Hence, it was not an obvious connection to make.

However, Osimhen had the foresight and advised Odumodu to feature the legendary rapper on his braggadocious record “If You Like Gym.” It is safe to say the collaboration was a success, as the song is currently charting on Apple Music’s top 100.

“Should I tell you who told me to feature Mode9? Victor Osimhen,” Odumodublvk told Afrobeats To The World Space. “Victor was like, ‘Guy, e go make sense if you feature Mode 9.’”

Mode 9 is a sworn Arsenal fan and even released an “Arsenal Anthem” in his 2022 album “Popkorn.” Odumodu said Modo rates Osimhen’s talents highly and wanted Arsenal to sign him.
