Manchester City defender John Stones has revealed the emotional and physical hardships he endured, which nearly led him to abandon his football career.
John Stones, the experienced centre-back for Manchester City, recently shared that last summer’s extended injury period brought him to the brink of retirement.
Throughout his career, the 31-year-old has battled recurring injuries. While at Everton during the 2014/15 and 2015/16 campaigns, Stones missed 25 matches. Since his move to Manchester City, injuries have sidelined him for a staggering 114 games across club and international duties.
