Renowned world championship medalists Marie Josee Ta Lou-Smith and Brittany Brown are set to clash once more in the sprint double, each determined to retain their ATHLOS crowns.
Finalists at the Tokyo 2025 World Championships, Marie Josee Ta Lou-Smith and Brittany Brown will renew their rivalry in the women’s 100m and 200m races at the ATHLOS NYC 2025 on Friday, October 10.
After a less-than-ideal performance in Tokyo, where neither athlete secured a podium finish in the sprint events, both sprinters are eager to close their seasons triumphantly by capturing the title in either the 100m or 200m at the ATHLOS meet in New York, along with the $60,000 prize.

With world champion Melissa Jefferson-Wooden absent, Ta Lou-Smith and Brown will contend with formidable rivals such as Kayla White, Jacious Sears, Zoe Hobbs, and Jonelle Smith in the 100m. Meanwhile, the 200m promises fierce competition from Amy Hunt, Anavia Battle, McKenzie Long, and Jessika Gbai, all of whom have the potential to claim victory.
Emerging British sprint sensation Amy Hunt stunned the athletics world by clinching silver at the Tokyo World Championships, signaling her arrival among the globe’s sprinting elite. She will be eager to build on this momentum at ATHLOS NYC 2025.
Meanwhile, Ta Lou-Smith, Africa’s fastest female sprinter ever, aims to successfully defend her ATHLOS 100m crown from last year, potentially marking her final competitive appearance on the track and seeking to conclude her illustrious career with a memorable victory.

Similarly, Brittany Brown is determined to retain her ATHLOS 200m championship from the previous year, setting the stage for an electrifying showdown in both sprint distances.
The ATHLOS competition will take place at New York’s Icahn Stadium, promising not only exceptional athletic performances but also an engaging spectacle for fans both on and off the track.

Adding to the event’s prestige, the legendary Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will attend as the Guest of Honour, with her remarkable career being celebrated during the meet.
