Following his recent participation in a peace summit held in Egypt concerning the situation in Gaza, French-Israeli peace campaigner Ofer Bronchtein shared insights with FRANCE 24. Accompanying French President Emmanuel Macron, Bronchtein stressed the urgent importance of maintaining open communication channels after a historic swap involving hostages and detainees. As the founder and president of the International Forum for Peace, he remarked, “It is my earnest wish that this opportunity will not be exploited to spark renewed hostilities.” Bronchtein was instrumental in encouraging Macron to publicly support the recognition of Palestinian statehood at the United Nations General Assembly last September, highlighting that “progress hinges on both sides acknowledging each other’s legitimate right to exist.”
