England’s head coach Thomas Tuchel firmly believes that the Three Lions possess a player with the capability to excel on the global football stage.
Tuchel has voiced his confidence in striker Marcus Rashford, highlighting that his natural talent could place him among the world’s elite footballers-if he can overcome his ongoing battle with maintaining consistency.
Following his surprising omission from England’s Euro 2024 roster, Rashford’s international career has seen a revival under Tuchel, who reinstated him into the national squad in March.
Manchester UnitedCurrently on loan at Barcelona after losing his regular starting role at Manchester United under Ruben Amorim, the 27-year-old forward is showing encouraging signs of revival, having already tallied three goals and five assists in just ten outings.
Despite this upward trend, Tuchel warns that Rashford must maintain this form consistently to fully realize his potential.
“His potential ceiling is remarkably high, potentially outshining many of his contemporaries. The innate skill is unmistakable, yet in top-tier sports, ‘potential’ can often be an unreliable measure,” Tuchel commented.
“The true challenge lies in delivering peak performances consistently, and that is the barrier he must break through.”

As England prepares for their World Cup qualifier against Latvia, Tuchel emphasized that Rashford’s issue is not a lack of ability.
“The problem isn’t talent; it’s about proving his worth consistently at both club and international levels,” he stated.
“From what I witness in training-the accuracy of his finishing with both feet and his aerial prowess-there’s no doubt he has what it takes to be ranked among the world’s best.”
