Rwanda’s national team coach, Adel Amrouche, has expressed admiration for the impressive World Cup qualifying performances of both South Africa and Nigeria as they advance toward the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Nigeria concluded their group stage with a commanding 4-0 victory over Benin Republic in Uyo, securing their spot in the World Cup playoff rounds.
Victor Osimhen was the standout player of the match, netting his third international hat-trick and playing a pivotal role in keeping Nigeria’s World Cup dreams alive.

This achievement placed South Africa just one point ahead of Nigeria, who will now compete in the playoff stage for a chance to qualify.
Amrouche Commends Nigeria’s Efforts
During the post-match press briefing, Amrouche extended his congratulations to both teams, emphasizing the importance of their roles as representatives of African football on the global stage.

“I am delighted for the Bafana Bafana coach and all the teams involved because Africa requires strong representatives like Nigeria, a formidable squad capable of showcasing our continent at the World Cup,” Amrouche remarked.
“The responsibility now is immense. Representing Africa means delivering performances that surpass what we witnessed during these qualifiers. Excellence must be the standard.”
