
Authorities in Ondo State have detained Oyewole Adamolekun following serious accusations of sexually abusing his 15-year-old daughter, which tragically led to her pregnancy.
According to a statement released by DSP Olushola Ayanlade on Thursday, October 16, 2025, Adamolekun resides in Taye Village, Lafa 2, Ajue Area. The case surfaced on October 8, 2025, after a concerned neighbor, Mr. Julius Olusola, alerted the Enu-Owa Divisional Police Headquarters in Ondo Town about the disturbing situation.
DSP Ayanlade disclosed that the complaint revealed a harrowing history of abuse, with the suspect allegedly exploiting his daughter sexually since she was just three years old.
“Law enforcement responded promptly, apprehending the suspect without hesitation. Medical assessments have verified that the victim is currently 19 weeks and two days pregnant,” the statement confirmed.
“During questioning, the accused admitted to the offense voluntarily.”
Adamolekun is currently held in custody as the gender desk unit carries out an in-depth investigation to guarantee a swift and thorough judicial process.
Furthermore, the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, vehemently condemned the crime, labeling it a grave violation of moral and legal standards.
“Lawal reiterated the police force’s strict zero-tolerance stance on sexual crimes, especially those targeting minors,” the release stated.
“He assured citizens of the police’s unwavering dedication to ensuring justice is served swiftly, professionally, and with the highest level of accuracy.”
The Commissioner also expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police for his relentless efforts in reforming law enforcement and safeguarding vulnerable groups across the nation.
“Lawal urged community members to stay alert and report any suspicious activities or abuse immediately to the nearest police station, emphasizing that authorities will persistently pursue, arrest, and prosecute perpetrators of such heinous offenses.”
