Arab Football Associations applaud Morocco’s historic FIFA U-20 World Cup success
The President of the Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFA), Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, has congratulated Morocco for winning the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, describing it as a historic milestone for Arab football.
Morocco made history by defeating Argentina 2-0 in the final held at the Julio Martínez Pradanos National Stadium in Santiago, Chile, early Monday morning, becoming the first Arab nation to lift the U-20 World Cup trophy.

Rising star Yassir Zubiri was the hero for the North African side, scoring both goals in the first half, in the 12th and 29th minutes, to seal a commanding victory and silence the Argentine fans.
Reacting to the achievement, Prince Abdulaziz, who also serves as Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, posted on X (formerly Twitter).
“Congratulations to our brothers in the Kingdom of Morocco for winning the U-20 World Cup. This is a historic achievement for Arab football and shows a strong presence in major international events.”
The Arab Football Federation’s message of praise echoed the pride felt across the Arab world, with Morocco’s triumph seen as a breakthrough that underscores the growing strength of Arab football on the global stage.
