<p> <a href=Senate President Godswill Akpabio has provided insight into the recent trend of senators realigning themselves with the All Progressives Congress (APC). He explained that this shift is largely driven by the senators’ acknowledgment of President Bola Tinubu as a unifying leader and a paternal figure in Nigeria‘s political arena.

In a recent development, Akpabio accompanied Senators Agom Jarigbe from Cross River North and Kaila Samaila representing Bauchi North to a significant meeting with President Tinubu at the State House in Abuja. Both senators had recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the APC ranks.

After the meeting, Akpabio told reporters that these political realignments are rooted in a profound sense of patriotism and confidence in President Tinubu’s strategic leadership.

He underscored that the senators were inspired by the president’s impactful economic reforms, which have significantly enhanced Nigeria’s fiscal health and increased government revenue streams.

“Senators Jarigbe and Samaila are dedicated allies of the president, viewing him as a guiding father figure and a unifying force that transcends party divisions,” Akpabio remarked.

“Though they were originally elected under different political parties, the evident progress under President Tinubu’s administration-particularly in economic revitalization and revenue expansion-motivated their transition to the APC. Their move reflects a collective commitment to Nigeria’s development and prosperity,” he added.
