Josh Maja Urgently Appeals to West Brom Boss Ryan Mason in Crucial Message

Josh Maja made a memorable impact in his first start of the season for West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday evening…

Super Eagles forward Josh Maja has subtly signaled to West Brom manager Ryan Mason his desire for increased playing opportunities, following his decisive goal in midweek, according to Soccernet.ng.

After being confined to the bench for seven consecutive Championship fixtures, Maja finally earned a starting berth for West Brom’s trip to Carrow Road to face Norwich City on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old striker justified the faith shown in him by opening the scoring in the 20th minute, netting the match-winning goal that secured all three points for the Baggies.

This marked Maja’s first goal since the start of the year, when he scored twice in a 3-1 triumph over Preston North End in the Championship on January 1.

While visibly thrilled by his contribution, Maja emphasized that the team’s victory was the ultimate priority on the night.

“I really enjoyed the moment. Scoring the winner felt fantastic, but the most important thing was securing the three points. Hopefully, this can be a springboard for us moving forward,” Maja shared with West Brom’s official website.

The former Fulham forward also hinted at his eagerness for more minutes on the pitch, confident that consistent game time will help him regain his top form.

“Finding the back of the net is one of my key strengths, and I aim to keep scoring while contributing to the team’s success,” Maja added.

“I want this to be the beginning of a run where I can score as many goals as possible, which is every striker’s ambition.”

Josh Maja’s Case for More Playing Time Strengthens

Maja’s limited appearances earlier in the season were largely due to injury setbacks and the impressive performances of Aune Heggebo.

However, his recent goal against Norwich has significantly bolstered his claim for a regular starting role. It is anticipated that Maja will be in the starting eleven when West Brom face Millwall this weekend.

Should he maintain his scoring form, Maja is poised to secure a consistent place in the team’s lineup moving forward.
