The prestigious NLNG Nigeria Prize in Literature and Science is nearing its climactic awards ceremony, promising an evening of celebration and recognition. The event will feature a keynote address by Bosun Tijani, Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, who will explore the transformative role of artificial intelligence within Nigeria’s swiftly evolving digital ecosystem.

Set for October 10, this year’s theme, “Inspiring a sustainable future,” underscores NLNG’s dedication to nurturing creativity and groundbreaking innovation that drive enduring development.

According to a spokesperson from the NLNG organizing committee, all finalists are expected to attend the Grand Award Night to receive their accolades. The event will also honor past winners, fostering a meaningful link between previous and current pioneers.

In a related development, a detailed review has been published, analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of this year’s shortlisted entries for the NLNG Nigeria Prize.

The literary nominees include Nikki May’s This Motherless Land, Chigozie Obioma’s The Road to the Country, and Oyin Olugbile’s Sanya.

The grand prize winner will receive $100,000, making it the most lucrative literary award across Africa. Notably, the Advisory Committee concluded that no submissions met the criteria for the Science category this year.
