President Bola Tinubu has officially forwarded a letter to the Nigerian Senate, requesting their endorsement of his recent selections for top military leadership roles.
The letter, addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, was formally submitted during the plenary session held on Tuesday in Abuja.

Within the communication, President Tinubu seeks the Senate’s approval for several pivotal military appointments: General Olufemi Oluyede as Chief of Defence Staff; Major-General Waheedi Shaibu as Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral Idi Abbas as Chief of Naval Staff; Air Vice Marshal Kennedy Aneke as Chief of Air Staff; and Major-General Emmanuel Undiendeye as Chief of Defence Intelligence.

Emphasizing the urgency of these appointments, President Tinubu appealed to the Senate to expedite the vetting and confirmation procedures to facilitate the prompt assumption of duties by these military leaders.

The nominations have been forwarded to the Committee of the Whole, which is slated to carry out comprehensive screening and confirmation hearings in the coming week.
